How this works
Trend
An exponential moving average (α = 0.1), seeded with the first three readings. Missing days are filled with straight lines between real readings so the trend can step daily; it never extends past your last reading. Gaps longer than 14 days are left blank on the chart.
Usual range
The shaded band spans the 10th–90th percentile of how far readings sat from the trend over the previous 60 days. Readings outside it are drawn slightly larger. It is a description of normal day-to-day variation, not a target.
Kalman trend (experimental)
Tracks two things at once: your weight and how fast it is changing. Each day it predicts today from yesterday, then moves toward the reading by an amount that depends on how sure it is. It lags less than the classic trend when your weight is moving, and its band shows how certain it is: narrow with daily readings, wider through gaps. The weekly rate counts as a direction only when its 95% range excludes zero. Past days are estimated with hindsight, using readings on both sides.
Sources and corrections
Apple Health readings sync from an iPhone Shortcut; the earliest reading each Shanghai day is used. Older readings were transcribed from a handwritten journal. To correct, exclude or annotate a day, edit data/reviews.json; the original value is kept.
